  • Nokia plans to launch 6125 Posted on 17 January 2006

See Larger ImageInspiration and simplicity have been at the heart of all great work since the very beginning for Nokia. You'll also find them inside the hand-fitting form of the Nokia 6125 phone. The 6125 is a GSM Quadband 850/900/1800/1900 MHz phone with Automatic switching between bands. The main internal display shoots up an active TFT 1.8" display supporting up to 262,144 colors (128 x 160 pixels) while the external mini display glares on a 1.4" CSTN screen supports up to 65,536 colors (96 x 65 pixels). The keypad is said to be optimized for better looks and readability. It has a Five-way navigation key including select key. It also has a Bluetooth and Infrared Port for normal file transfer.

The 6125 will consist of a Integrated 1.3 megapixel camera (resolution 1280 x 1024 pixels) with dedicated camera button, and 8x smooth zoom. It shall have a capability of storing 11 MB of internal shared memory for contacts, text messages, multimedia messages, ringing tones, images, video clips, calendar notes, to-do list, and applications and an expandable memory supporting MicroSD memory cards with hot swap. Although the memory capacity of the MicroSD card seems to be unclear, it is expected to be launched at a very reasonable price of 230 EUros that is approximately INR Rs. 12276 in second quarter of 2006. So wondering wheres the catch??? Here it is!! The 6125 is not a Series 60 OS it is a Enhanced Series 40 Phone. Thats where the cost cuts off! But that doesnt seem to be a great issue for many customers.

It finally appears that Nokia is looking forward to provide the Users with some perfectly balanced features with a reasonable Price.

  • Nokia prepares for next launch, The 6103 Posted on 7th January 2006

See Larger ImageNokia, on 5th january announced a new flip phone to its deck. Nokia expressed views on launching Nokia 6103 in the second quarter of 2006. Although the availablity prices of it are not clear, it is expected to land into the mid priced segment like the Nokia 6101. Infact, the 6103 is derived from 6101 itself. The only difference between the two phones seems to its Design and the inclusion of Bluetooth Technology.

The Nokia 6103 comes armed with a VGA camera with video recording and playback function, a Bluetooth Wireless Port and a Internal display showing off 65,536 colours at 128 x 160 pixels. Just like the 6101, the 6103 also lacks the inclusion of extendable memory. But, one also must consider that inclusion of such features would change the pricings and thus in return change the handsets target market.
