With
a considerable success after the introduction of its N-series,
like Nokia N90, the Nokia Corporation is quick
to introduce its another handset named Nokia N70. The
Nokia N70 looks great unlike the monotonous inventions
of handsets. It has got a compact body wherein the display and
the keypad are perfectly situated. An availabilty of adjustable
brightness which is excellent is also provided with N70.
The keypad is made better with its backlight. The handset has
a Five-way navigational key. Now it will be quite weird
to know that some of the features of N70 are similar
to that of one of the previous inventions of Nokia i.e
Nokia 6680 though these features have been improved
upon. The Nokia N70's screen and keypad are well
surrounded by a stainless steel bezel and so it adds
to its exceedingly classy as well as stylish looks. But the
steel bezel will easily reveal the scratches if there
are any.
The N70 measures 108.8 x 53 x 21.8mm,
95.9cc thereby measuring 126g. It operates with
Triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 MHz, also connects
with WCDMA 2100 MHz based 3G. there is a support for
CSD, HSCSD and fax. The display however consists of TFT
256 K colors, its size being 176 x 208 pixels.
The camera with 2 mega pixels (1.92 Mega
pixels to be precise), delivers a clear image though not
as good as Nokia N90! The N70 captures Fairly
good Videos. It is noticed that the reaction time is pretty
low. The N70 is equipped with a different kind of software
for picture viewing. The front panel is fitted up with a VGA
Camera for Video conferencing. The 2 Mega Pixel
camera (1600 x 1200 pixels) has a 20x digital zoom,
while, the front panel VGA Camera (640 x 480 pixels
) has 2x digital zoom. All the Images and video clips
can be uploaded to the web through the phone.
The
in-built Real Media Player plays quiet a lot formats
such as MP3, AAC, Real Audio, WAV, Nokia Ring
Tones, AMR, AMR-WB, AMR-NB, AU, MIDI, H.263, JPEG, JPEG2000,
EXIF 2.2, GIF 87/89, PNG, BMP (W-BMP), MBM, MPEG-4 and eAAC+.
The Software also facilitates Full-screen video playback
on the phone to view downloaded, streamed or recorded video
clips in larger size.
Nokia N70 Memory Functions up to 30 MB of
internal dynamic memory for contacts, images, text
messages, multimedia messages, ringing tones, images, video
clips, calendar notes, to-do list and applications. The memory
can be further extended by replacing the already present 64
MB Reduced Size Dual Voltage (1.8/3V) MultiMediaCard (MMC).
The N70 also consists of a Hot swap slot for
easy MMC card insertion and removal.
In addition to all these the N70 has the facility
of Bluetooth and GPRS with EDGE technology for
enabling better data transfers. Sadly there is no Infrared
Port in the handset. It contains a Push to talk(PTT)
button, video calling as well as download, MP3/AAC/MPEG4
player, connects with WAP 2.0, provides xHTML/HTML
browser, also facilitates connectivity with USB PopPort.
Apart from these lovely provisions the N70 has
the normal functions like that of SMS, MMS, phone book,
call records, alarm, games that can be downloaded through
Java apart from those which are already available,
vibration so on and so forth.
The
N70 comes up with an Symbian 8.1a OS, The Operating
system is the typical Series 60, The Nokia N70
acquires data speeds upto 236.8 kbps. The Phone also has an
FM radio, voice command/ memory, PIM including calendar,
contacts, to-do list, and PIM printing along with a Integrated
handsfree or loud speaker Mode.
So having all the facilities that a person needs the
N70 will prove to be attracting everybody in need of style
and use. No infrared, causes problems of synchronisation but
Bluetooth facility covers up the needfull. So the users have
got to overlook these few drawbacks and accept the dashing
smartphone because its worth it.
